A chalazion excision is a minor day-theatre procedure to remove a meibomian cyst, a small painless lump that forms when an oil gland in the eyelid becomes blocked, and it is available in Windhoek at Eastgate Clinic. Most chalazia settle with warm compresses, but a cyst that persists, grows, or affects vision or comfort may need surgical removal.
The procedure is done under local or short general anaesthesia in our on-site day theatre, so you do not need to travel to a separate surgical hospital.
