A pelvic ultrasound is an imaging scan performed in our rooms at Eastgate Clinic in Windhoek to get a clear look at the pelvic organs, which can include the uterus, ovaries, and surrounding structures. Depending on what your doctor needs to assess, the scan may be done transvaginally or transabdominally, using sound waves to build a real-time picture without radiation.
It is commonly used to investigate pelvic pain, irregular periods, suspected cysts or fibroids, or as part of a broader gynaecological assessment. Your doctor will discuss the findings with you once the scan is complete, in the same visit.
