A molar pregnancy evacuation in Windhoek is the surgical removal of abnormal tissue that forms instead of a normal pregnancy, known as a hydatidiform mole. It is needed because this tissue will not develop into a viable pregnancy and can continue to grow or, rarely, become abnormal if left in place, so timely removal and follow-up are important.

What to expect

• The evacuation is done under anaesthesia with extra care because molar tissue tends to bleed

• Regular hCG blood tests afterwards until the level returns to normal
• Contraception is advised until monitoring is complete, and your doctor explains why
