Excision of a testicular or epididymal lesion is a day-theatre procedure available in Windhoek that removes a lump or cyst from the testicle or epididymis, either to relieve symptoms or to confirm a diagnosis through laboratory examination. Lumps in this area are common and often benign, such as a cyst on the epididymis, but any new lump should be assessed by a doctor to rule out more serious causes. Surgery is considered when a lesion is uncomfortable, growing, or needs to be examined more closely.

What to expect

• A consultation and examination, often with ultrasound, in our rooms before surgery
• Performed under anaesthesia in our on-site day theatre
• Mild swelling and bruising in the scrotum afterwards is common
• A period of reduced activity during early recovery, as advised by your doctor
• Follow-up appointment to discuss results and check healing
