An anorectal biopsy is a day-theatre biopsy of the anal or rectal lining, taken to investigate unexplained bleeding, pain, or a suspicious growth, and it is available in Windhoek at Eastgate Clinic. A small tissue sample is taken from the anal or rectal wall and sent to a laboratory for analysis, helping your doctor reach an accurate diagnosis when symptoms are unclear or a growth needs to be checked.

The biopsy is performed in our on-site day theatre, usually under local, regional, or general anaesthesia depending on the area involved. Your doctor will discuss the results with you once they are available.
